Burcu BERİSPEK KÜÇÜKERDOĞAN

After graduating from Istanbul Marmara University with a degree in History Education in 2001, she completed coursework in Elementary Education at Marmara University in 2002, earning her degree in Primary School Teaching. She completed her master's degree at the Marmara University Institute of Turkish Arts Research; her master's thesis, focusing on translations of the İkdam Newspaper between 1908 and 1911, was published in various art journals.

Educational and Professional Experience in Turkey

Throughout her career in Turkey, she served as an educator in well-established educational institutions such as the Austrian High School Education Foundation, Eyüboğlu College, Middle East College, and Bilfen Schools. She successfully completed numerous professional development seminars and training programs:

• Classroom Management, Effective Communication Methods, and Communication with Youth
• Body Language in Education, Assessment and Evaluation
• Multiple Intelligences Theory and Mastery Learning Model
• Performance-Based Assessment and Alternative Approaches in Education (Rubrics)
• Orff Schulwerk Training, Character Education, and Teaching Methods for Diverse Learning Groups
• "Learning is an Emotional Experience" and the Emotional Dimension of Learning
• Total Quality Management (TQM) and ISO 2001

In addition to these achievements, she contributed as a participant and moderator at the Good Practices in Education Workshops organized by Sabancı University in 2006 and 2007.

Work and Social Responsibility Projects in the United States

At our Turkish School in the United States, she teaches Turkish reading and writing, Turkish Culture and Geography, as well as traditional Turkish arts including ebru (marbling), tile making (çini), and ceramics. Alongside organizing commemorative events according to national curriculum objectives, she has directed national holiday celebrations including:

• October 29 Republic Day
• April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day
• May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day

Furthermore, she has taken an active role in executing social responsibility projects in collaboration with TEMA Foundation, LÖSEV, and rural village schools in Turkey, as well as developing educational textbooks and curriculum materials.

Educational Vision and Mission

She currently serves as the school principal and educator. Drawing upon extensive teaching experience that began in 2001, her core educational objective is to help Turkish children in the United States embrace their cultural heritage under the guidance of Atatürk's principles and reforms, empowering them to proudly preserve their Turkish identity.
